10 Reasons to Sign up for a Class:

1. Discover Your Medium:
A class is an immersion in to its subject. Your teacher can explain and demonstrate how and why the materials react the way they do. You’ll learn how to push the limits and how to coax it into professional results.

2. Save Yourself Time and Money:
When you stumble along on your own, you tend to waste time and materials. You experience more mistakes and often end with results that just don’t meet your expectations.

3. Try Before You Buy:
You won’t need to invest a lot to get started. You can use tools and supplies provided by the teacher until you are sure you like your subject well enough to invest in your own. Don’t have your own studio? You get to use someone else's until you are sure you are ready to branch out on your own.

4. Learn How to Stay Safe:
A teacher can show you the proper way to use tools and warn you about potential health hazards related to your subject. Every medium has its dangers. Learn what they are and work safely.

5. Find out What Tools are the Right Tools:
Trying to learn about a subject on your own is tough. It’s amazing how much simpler a project is when you have the right tools and know how to use them! You can learn about something you never knew existed that may suddenly solve a problem you’ve been struggling with.

6. Learn the Tricks of the Trade:
An experienced teacher can share their tips and tricks that will help you to learn how to work economically. They can share where you can cut corners, and when you shouldn’t. You may also find the best sources where to acquire your tools and materials. Also, when skills are demonstrated by someone professional, it’s so much easier to learn the correct way to do it. You’ll often experience Light Bulb Moments - “Ohhhh! So that’s how to do that”!

7. Get Excited!
Inspiration is often picked up from other artists. A talented teacher will inspire their class to creativity. By asking questions and observing your teacher work, you’ll get encouraged to create great pieces yourself!

8. Meet New People:
You meet people in your class that have the same interests as you. You might just meet your new Best Bud. By sharing an exciting class, you’ll also learn from others as well as enjoy yourself in a creative, relaxed atmosphere.

9. Have Some Fun!
Classes are an opportunity to develop a lifelong leisure pursuit. Just think of the fun you’ll have getting to play with your subject AND learn something new about it!

10. Be Green:
Spend your money on fun, learning, and art rather than buying more unnecessary clutter for your house. For that matter, why clutter someone elses’ house? Give gift certificates for art classes rather than any more gifts that no one wants!
